Welcome!

I am currently a Louisiana State University Honors undergraduate student studying Biological Sciences with a concentration in Secondary Education. My joy and aspiration in life is to be a light that others can look to when they need help. I believe the two pathways that truly resonate with my purpose in life are healthcare and research. As a result, I’ve devoted my college experience to study the underlying mechanisms of life, learning how to communicate that science to audiences of all ages, and to never miss an opportunity before me in support of my community.

My Portfolio showcases research, various activities and organizations that I’ve participated in along with works that demonstrate some of my qualities as a pillar in my community. Below, you will find brief descriptions and clickable links to these items and experiences.

Honors Thesis Research

At Louisiana State University under Dr. Alyssa Johnson, I conducted research into sleep deprivation and how sleep affects animal health using the model organism Drosophila melanogaster.

Global Health

In and around Chinchina, Colombia, I volunteered for a global health mission trip through the organization International Service and Learning. Here I shadowed and engaged with the Colombian healthcare professionals from first contact to initial patient examination at the hospital.

Community

I am dedicated to my community and have connected with many people during my time at LSU. I have participated in and lead teams for multiple years at LSU’s annual event Geaux Big, joined my church in cooking for the homeless on Sundays in BUB, and much more!
